[vol.02] - LAST at last! December is the month of Erik Lorincz (Kwãnt Mayfair) &　Akihiro Eguchi (Jigger & Pony)!

Nikka Whisky's pop-up bar「THE NIKKA WHISKY TOKYO」, located in Omotesando, welcomes world-class bartenders to come to Japan one after another! Guest shifts for an exquisite cocktail experience, and increasingly exciting December programs; who are coming !

Connecting the bar scene in Japan and overseas! ~NIKKA WHISKY COCKTAIL JOURNEY~

The World's 50 Best Bars is the highest bar award in the world, dreamt up by bartenders and bar owners.

Over the past years, it is Nikka Whisky who has supported this dramatic scene.

They want to further enliven the bar scene and bar culture around the world, and to promote the appeal of Japanese bartending to the rest of the world. With this in mind, they have contributed to this award as a world partner.

Nikka Whisky, under the celebration of its 90th anniversary this year, has invited the world's top bartenders from The World's 50 Best Bars to its flagship bar, THE NIKKA WHISKY TOKYO, open from August to 25 December only, for the very special guest shifts!

In November, we were thrilled to have the exciting line-up of Julia Momose from Bar Kumiko, Patrick Pistolesi from Drink Kong and Nico de Soto from Danico/Mace.

The heat will be turned up even more, with a hotly anticipated visit to Japan in December.

Part 1 in December is from UK "Kwãnt Mayfair" : an elegant cocktail by the world's leading bartender in the bar scene!

Erik Lorincz is the man behind the American Bar at The Savoy in London, which was voted No. 1 in The World's 50 Best Bars 2017.
Such a world-famous bartender will be here!

In 2018, he opened "Kwãnt" as its own fully-fledged bar, which was ranked sixth on The World's 50 Best Bars just two years after the start.

After the Covid, "Kwãnt Mayfair" reopened in the Mayfair district in 2023 and is known for its wide range of innovative signature cocktails.


At the Tokyo International Bar Show 2024, held in May this year, the company collaborated with Nikka Whisky to recreate an actual bar in the venue.

This guest shift is also going to showcase his perfect balance of classic cocktails and ones with modern twist.

You'll be served cocktails right in front of you by the man himself, Erik!
Such a luxurious experience is not to be missed.

Aki joined "Jigger & Pony" as bar manager in 2013 and is the face of the venue.

Part 2 in December is from Singapore "Jigger & Pony" : Aki, who heads up one of Asia's most popular bars, makes a triumphant return!

Aki Eguchi moved to Singapore in 2006 and is the bar programme director of the "Jigger & Pony" group which is now a regular on The World's 50 Best Bars list (and top of Asia's 50 Best Bars 2020!).

On the day "Jigger & Pony" unveils its new cocktails, it is flooded with reservations from guests who want to taste them before anyone else does, and its success not only as a player but also as a manager has already been reported in our article, 【特別連載】投資家・共同経営者×バーテンダー.

In Singapore, with its mix of different styles, cultures and values, what is about the cocktails at "Jigger & Pony" that transcends across nationalities, races and ages?

Both Erik and Aki's guest shifts are standing style, with no reservations required, and you can order one drink at a time after purchasing your drink ticket in the bar.

Everyone is welcome to drop in at, but the number of cocktails is limited and the closing time may be earlier. Early arrival is recommended.
